Nature's Hive: relief that reached people in days, not weeks
When floods hit the hills, the foundation's volunteer network moved supplies to cut-off families while formal aid was still being organised.
Nature's Hive was set up as a foundation for ecological restoration, but a disaster does not wait for a mandate. When flooding cut off hill villages, our volunteers and vehicles were already in the region.
We ran a transparent donation drive with a public QR code, bought supplies locally so that the money stayed in the affected economy, and delivered directly to families rather than through intermediaries.
Why speed came from structure
The network existed before the emergency. Years of tree planting, water work and village programmes meant we knew the roads, the panchayats and who to call in each settlement.
That is the quiet argument for long-term community work: it becomes the emergency response system when something goes wrong.
