Clay, colour and confidence: arts programmes for village children

Weekly pottery and art sessions that give rural children a creative practice — and give traditional crafts a next generation.

Children working on an art and pottery activity

Children in the villages around Gairatpur Bas have plenty of space and very little access to the arts. The Nature's Hive studio changed that with a simple offer: come after school, sit at the wheel, take what you make home.

Craft as livelihood

The same studio trains adults. Pottery, natural dyeing and the farm-to-table kitchen create income streams that don't require anyone to leave for the city.

Visitors buy the work at the natural store on site, closing the loop between the village and the people who come to see it.
